Aldi Süd is investing in the development of the next generation of
refrigerated lorries, according to German press reports. The trailers are
manufactured using carbon fibre reinforced plastic and as such are between 25
and 40% lighter than traditional vehicles. They are also said to use less
fuel, emit less CO2 and have a greater load capacity.
