Carrefour France has announced three new online and digital solutions for its home market as it looks to embed its multichannel strategy in the country, win with shoppers and offset challenges at its largest stores.
One hour delivery solution to be extended
Following a successful trial, Carrefour has said it will be extending its one hour delivery service to Lyon from May with other major cities to be added by the end of 2017. The service, under the Livraison Express brand, enables shoppers to order from a range of just 3,000 SKUs, i.e. the range available in Carrefour’s city-based proximity stores. It will also be receiving its own dedicated app from April, so that shoppers can track their orders. Shoppers are able to choose a 30 minute delivery slot, which are available between 09:00 and 22:00. Deliveries are made by start-up company Stuart, for a charge of €4.90, which says that it specialises in bicycle deliveries.
Meal box solution to be rolled out
Following a successful trial by its operations in Belgium, Carrefour France has said it will be rolling out a meal box solution. The boxes, which are set to be launched in April, will be made available through a new site, PanierCuistot.fr. Shoppers will be able to sign up to the service without taking out a subscription and will then be able to choose from a range of 10 boxes.
Fulfilment of the orders will be made through Carrefour’s own Ooshop supply chain, with next day deliveries available on orders made before 13:00. A charge of €2.90 will be made for delivery.
