Cold Storage, a Singapore supermarket chain, has said that it will introduce
a 'technology-enabled' shopping trolley by the end of the year. According to the
chain, it will be the first retailer in Asia to take this initiative.
The trolley, which has been produced by Media Cart Asia, will be able to
identify the shopper's location and profile via RFID (radio frequency
identification) and as a result will be able to display information such as
product locations and targeted advertisements via an LCD screen on the front of
the trolley.
