Dutch retailer, Jumbo, has announced plans to build a new online fulfilment centre, following the rapid growth of its online offer.
Responding to rapid growth
Jumbo has reported that capacity at its existing online fulfilment centre (FC) in Den Bosch, in the south of the Netherlands, will soon be met, due to the rising popularity of online shopping. The new facility will be adjacent to its existing temperature-controlled distribution centre in Raalte, in the north of the country. The new online FC should become operational in spring 2018.
Investing in online
Jumbo is expanding its online offer quickly, and offers online-only bulk buy products. The retailer has over 300 click and collect points in the Netherlands, plus home and small business delivery options. For more information on Jumbo’s supply chain, check out the Jumbo supply chain snapshot here.
