The Kroger Co. has announced the expansion of Kroger Wine by launching its new ‘build-your-own pack’ feature, alongside a special Black Friday and Cyber Monday promotion.
Featuring more than 45 wines, available across 19 states and Washington, D.C.
Back in October 2018, Kroger teamed up with Drinks Holdings, a Los Angeles-based wine delivery service, to offer the service initially in 14 states.
Essentially, the new ‘build-your-own pack’ feature allows shoppers to customise their packs by choosing each individual wine.
Jody Kalmbach, Kroger’s group VP of product experience, commented: “Kroger is continuously broadening how customers can engage with us, no matter what their needs are. Our mission is to serve our customers anything, anytime, anywhere, and Kroger Wine represents an additional way our customers can shop with us. With the new ‘build-your-own pack’ feature, Kroger has brought its industry-leading convenience and personalization to the online wine-buying experience and expanded our leadership in the wine category.”
Grocery retailers have increasingly been introducing online alcohol delivery offerings. Back in June, Sam’s Club launched a one-hour alcohol delivery service at select stores by teaming up with Instacart. Since then, retailers including Aldi and Walmart have also introduced on-demand alcohol delivery to their omnichannel grocery offerings.
