Amazon has rolled out its click and collect service, Amazon Counter, to thousands more locations across the US.
New partner locations
Amazon Counter offers customers a network of stores where they can collect their online orders from designated pick up points at partner locations. The click and collect option is available to all Amazon customers at no extra cost, offering Same-Day, One-Day, Two-Day and Standard shipping options.
The service launched in the US in June 2019, following the launch in the UK and Italy. Initially rolled out across 1,500 Rite Aid locations in the US, Amazon has now expanded to thousands more Amazon Hub Counter locations. New store partners include GNC, Health Mart and Stage Stores.
Increasing traffic to partner stores
Amazon Counter is the latest of Amazon’s convenient delivery solutions, offering a safe space for parcel delivery. The new service capitalises on Amazon’s existing pick up and locker options, which are now available in more than 900 cities and towns across the US. As well as providing increased convenience to Amazon’s customers, the partner retailers will also benefit from increased traffic into store. Amazon has said that since its launch in June, Counter has brought in tens of thousands of Amazon shoppers to partner locations, with Thursday being the most popular day to pick up packages. The online retailer plans to further expand its network of Counter Hub stores following interest from a range of retailers, convenience stores and small businesses in becoming a partner.
Patrick Supanc, Worldwide Director of Amazon Hub, commented: “This new network of pickup points gives customers a pickup experience that is fast, flexible and convenient, and partners are thrilled with the strong engagement and additional foot traffic Counter is driving for their stores”.
